| Format | Note shown |
|---|---|
| PNG | Sharp, larger files |
| JPG | Smaller files, best for photos |
| WebP | Small files for the web |
| TIFF | For print and scanning software |
| BMP | Uncompressed, very large files |
| GIF | 256 colours |
| ICO | A Windows icon |
| SVG (scalable vector) | Shapes that stay sharp at any size |
To convert images:
- Open Convert images and add one or more pictures.
- Choose the format under Convert to.
- For a JPG or WebP result, adjust Quality — lower makes a smaller file.
- Select Convert images.
The first picture you add is previewed at the size the chosen format and quality will produce. If any of your files is an SVG, you'll see: "Animations and scripts inside the SVG are not kept; the picture is converted as a still image." Converting a photo or other raster picture into an SVG shows: "Photos come out as flat colour shapes; logos, icons and drawings convert best."
What you'll see when it's done: one converted file per picture, ready to download, or Download all (.zip) for more than one.
Converting a HEIC/HEIF photo on an engine that doesn't support it shows "HEIC input needs libheif on the engine." A failed row otherwise shows its reason with Try again.
